Trauma
Trauma changes you. It leaves invisible scars, reshapes the way you see the world, and sometimes makes you question if you'll ever feel whole again. Some wounds aren't visible, but they are real. And the hardest part? Not everyone understands what you're going through. Some will tell you to move on, to let it go, as if healing doesn't follow a timeline. There's no deadline for when you should feel okay again.
Some days, you might feel like you've made progress. Other days, the memories creep back in, and it feels like you're right where you started. But that doesn't mean you're not healing. Healing isn't about erasing the past, it's about learning to live with it in a way that no longer controls you. It's about taking back your power, little by little, even on the days when it feels impossible.
You are not weak for still feeling the effects of what happened to you. You are not broken because you're still healing. Trauma may have shaped you, but it does not define you. You are more than what you've been through. And even if the journey is slow, even if it takes time, every small step you take is a victory.
So be patient with yourself. Honor your healing, no matter how long it takes. There is no shame in carrying wounds, but there is strength in choosing to heal from them. You are moving forward even on the days when it doesn't feel like it. And one day, you'll look back and see just how far you've come.
